Statement
My artistic practice merges political awareness with ecological reflection through a sustainability-rooted approach, grounded in storytelling. I work primarily in printmaking and multimedia, using natural linoleum, wood, and salvaged materials such as recycled fabric and plastic. I am drawn to printmaking for its accessibility and its potential as a sustainable medium, and I am currently exploring traditional non-toxic techniques such as the Japanese watercolor printing method, mokuhanga.
At the core of my work is a desire to weave compelling narratives that address our collective responsibility to one another and the earth. I use juxtaposition and shifts in scale as central visual strategies: the monumental collides with the mundane, the everyday is placed alongside the unthinkable, seriousness meets humor, irony, and at times sarcasm. By flipping scale and meaning, macro with micro, fun with gravity, I aim to reframe the familiar and place viewers in an unfamiliar, sometimes uncanny space.
Parallel to my studio practice is a strong passion for government and international relations. I aspire to make meaningful contributions to collective action problems and hold a strong conviction that effective government must be shaped by diverse perspectives—including those of artists.
